Gabion basket is a welded or woven wire container like cylinder or box filled with stones, rocks, gravels and concretes. Originally, gabion baskets are used to civil engineering, military applications and soil erosion control. Now, an increasing number of gabion baskets are used to decorate gardens, yards, homes and landscapes.

Weak point of gabion structure depends on the wire. To prevent gabion failure, heavier wire are employed than the ones on the market. The most common used wire is galvanized wire which can resist corrosion and rust in wet environment. PVC coated and galfan coated wire have better performance than galvanized and have longer life expectancy.
