PVC Coated Galvanized Gabion Baskets 2x1x1m Hexagonal Mesh

Nova double-twisted PVC-coated gabion boxes are manufactured from metallic-coated steel wire (zinc-coated or Zn-5A1-MM-coated) with an additional PVC coating extruded onto the metallic-coated steel wire. The PVC layer provides extra protection to the metal gabion boxes for embankment protection.

Coating types:

• Heavily galvanized
• Heavily galvanized/PVC coated
• Galfan coated
• Galfan coated/polymer coated

Wire specifications:

• Body wire: diameter 2.7 mm plus 0.5mm thick PVC coating
• Selvedge wire: diameter 3.4 mm plus 0.5mm thick PVC coating
• Lacing wire: diameter 2.2 mm plus 0.5mm thick PVC coating

The PVC polymer coating is extruded over either zinc or galfan wire utilized in the manufacturing of gabions. The PVC coating meets the following requirements:

• Coating must be at least 0.5 mm thick (minimum 0.4 mm)
• Resistant to environmental exposure and saltwater immersion
• Maximum specific gravity 1.5 g/m³ (ISO 1183-1:2004)
• Minimum durometer Hardness (Shore D) 38 (ISO 868:2003)
• Minimum tensile strength 17 MPa (ISO 527-2:1993)
• Minimum elongation 200% (ISO 527-2:1993)

The PVC coating shall be in grey or dark green color.
